Hilton Head

Last week was a week of firsts for Beckett...first plane ride, first time at the beach, first time in a pool, first bike ride...you get the picture.

On Wednesday Sam, Beckett, and I headed to Charlotte, NC to visit my sister. I must admit that I am really not a big fan of flying. I know what the statistics say...you are much more likely to get killed on the way to the airport, etc, etc. Still, I have an unrealistic fear of flying...like the plane is just going to shut down mid-flight and we will fall from the sky. Needless to say I was the most nervous about this part of the trip. Ironically having a baby in my lap pushed all of my flying fears aside and replaced them with the fear of a screaming child for 2 hours. But Beckett was an angel! He slept a majority of the way to Charlotte and home. His schedule since we've been back has been a different story, but that's neither here nor there.

We spent Wednesday night at my sister's condo that she bought last year. Props to Jenny for a fantastic decorating job. Then we headed to Winston-Salem on Thursday to spend the day with Carla and Addison. It was great to see old friends, and I really think Beckett enjoys being around older kids. When we got back to Charlotte we then headed to Hilton Head where we spent Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night.

Hilton Head is such a neat place. It very much has a neighborhood feel, and people ride bikes everywhere. We spent some time at the beach, played in the pool, and biked to the pier for a drink. Thanks so much to Chris and Jenny for being fabulous hosts! We had so much fun and hope to see you guys again soon!

I love the pics of Beckett on the beach - so cute! I hope he received a certificate from the pilots for his first flight. If not, Mike can forge one for him. :)
