A Trip to the Lake

"Macie-nana-boat-water."

I heard these words coming from my backseat last week while Beckett and I were in the car. It took me a few minutes to put them together, but then I realized exactly what B was trying to tell me. And I also realized that I had completely forgotten to post about our recent trip to the lake.

Two weeks ago we spent a weekend on Lake Conroe with several of our good friends. As always we had so much fun! But like any good party you sometimes have to deal with the party crasher. In this case it was a 20-foot long, 100-lb king cobra (or whatever the deadliest of all snakes is) that showed up on the patio as we were headed out to the pool.

Proof.

Okay...so maybe I was exaggerating a little bit. But that is exactly how we all remembered our "guest" until he washed up at the neighbor's dock the next day. You see, my husband and Garrett were brave enough to "take care" of our guest (i.e. kill him with a shovel), and then they decided the best place to dispose of the remains would be to throw it back in the lake.

Great plan because dead snakes sink, right? Apparently not. When our friend washed up near the neighbor's dock the next morning we were able to take a closer look. Upon examination we found out that he was actually a 6-foot long harmless garden snake. But I can promise you that he looked anything but harmless when we encountered him on the patio.

Anyway...on to the fun. Beckett was here to relax and catch some rays.

...until he spotted his friend, Macie. Seeing as how she is super cute, Beckett decided it was time to impress.

So being the fearless "all boy" that he is Beckett showed of his sweet moves by jumping off the side of the pool. He started off small...just off the edge.

But when that didn't seem to impress her, Beckett had to pull out all the stops and jump off of the raised spa which is a good 2-foot free fall.

We're not sure if he really impressed her, but Macie was kind enough to share her banana with Beckett on our boat ride. And since the way to a man's heart is often through his stomach, we're going to assume that she was impressed.

Although he enjoyed the ride he would have much rather been in the driver seat. At least until he discovered our plan.

Tubing with the kids! Addison went first.

You can see how much she liked it.

And I think Beckett liked it even less...if that's possible.

Fortunately we ended the day with a few rides from the pros...Macie and Kim.

Thanks to our friends for a very fun weekend, and thanks to Macie for sharing her "nana" with Beckett on the boat in the water!
