Birthday Boy!

Here are a few pics from Beckett's party. Unfortunately, mom and dad forgot to get out our camera for most of the party so we don't have too many to share. But B had fun...and that's what counts!

Then...and now

What a difference a year makes!

Happy 1st Birthday Beckett!

Dear Beckett,

How is it possible that you are already one year old? It seems like just yesterday Daddy and I were bringing you home from the hospital. This has absolutely been the best year of our lives, and you have brought us more joy than we could have ever imagined!

I remember holding you when you were a newborn and thinking that I never wanted you to get any bigger. But what fun it has been to watch you grow, learn, and explore the world around you and to see your personality come to light. You are the very best part of every day for us!

Beckett, you are turning into such a big boy. You are walking (you actually started taking more than 5 or 6 steps today!) and can now walk all the way across the room with no help. And you are talking too(well...a few words at least like "ma-ma", "da-da", and "bye-bye").

You love to play with your toys and climb the stairs, and you are all boy...no fear at all! You also love to read books, and your favorite right now is Goodnight Moon. Our favorite "trick" you do right now is pick up anything (mostly remote controls) and hold it to your ear and say "hi" like you are talking on the telephone. Hmm...I wonder where you learned that??

You still eat mostly baby food, but you love to snack on anything crunchy. Goldfish are your favorites. You greet strangers with a smile and charm the old ladies in the grocery store. Like I said before...an absolute joy!

So Happy Birthday Sweet Boy! Mommy and Daddy love you more than you will ever know and can't wait to celebrate with your friends tomorrow!

Love you forever,
Mommy and Daddy

P.S. Just so you know...we did celebrate your actual birthday. Daddy made you smiley face chocolate chip pancakes, and we put a candle in them and sang to you. You weren't a huge fan of the pancake itself, but you sure did love our singing!

Game Day

Just a couple of pics of our future Aggie...we love this time of year!

Growing and Growing

Again...I'll take the bad blogger award! We have had a busy two months so I'll try and catch you up.

It's hard to believe our little man is going to be 1 in just five days! How can a whole year go by so fast?? I keep thinking I don't want him to get any bigger, but each stage (at least so far!) has been more fun than the one before. He is such a sponge and is learning new things each day.

Beckett's favorite new "trick" is holding anything up to his ear and trying to say "hi". He actually throws his arm/object way past his ear almost to his shoulder blade...it's hilarious. He is trying so hard to walk. He will take about 3-5 steps and then face plant. He thinks he is really funny...we agree. Beckett has also discovered the stairs...endless fun! And he is absolutely fascinated with remote controls...I had no idea it started so young :)

His vocabulary is still limited, but he points to everything and tries to mimic what we say. He can say "mama", "dada", "bye-bye", and "hi". Of course we think he is genius!

Beckett is working on his fourth tooth to even things out at two on the bottom and two on the top. We are trying to transition him to regular food, but I'm learning that he is rather picky. He loves anything crunchy but avoids a lot of other textures that are soft, like pasta. We'll get there eventually. I'm hoping Thanksgiving will help...who can resist all of that yumminess?

Anyway...enough of my rambling. Below are a lot of pics from the past two months. I'm sure I will update again after his party next weekend. Enjoy!
